If a man dies, leaving behind a wife, three daughters, and a brother and sisters (full siblings or paternal half-siblings), and he has no other heirs, then the wife receives one-eighth (3 shares out of 24), the daughters receive two-thirds (16 shares), and the remainder (5 shares) goes to the brother and sisters, with the male receiving the share of two females. If the wife dies before him, the estate is divided among the daughters, the brother, and the sisters. However, if the siblings are uterine siblings (from the mother only), they do not inherit in the presence of a direct descendant (inheriting branch). In such a case, the remainder goes to the closest male 'asabah (agnate) of the deceased.
