A respected animal is one whose killing is forbidden by religious law, such as a human, livestock, and hunting or guard dogs. As for the cat mentioned, there is no sin upon you, because its perishing is not certain; perhaps it saved itself, or someone else rescued it. The specific warning for one who imprisoned a cat until it died does not apply to you.
