If a husband travels for 'Umrah with one of his wives, he must compensate the other wife for the duration he spent with the first one, because he traveled for her need. However, he is not required to compensate for the days of travel and transit. If he travels to visit his parents or to maintain kinship ties, then upon his return, he should start with the wife whose turn it was before his departure.
