Are there good deeds that are hidden and easy to perform?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

A Muslim should be keen to have a hidden good deed known to no one but himself, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever among you can have a hidden good deed, let him do it." An example of this is Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him, who concealed his good deed of praying whatever was decreed for him after every ablution, until the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked him about it. This can be achieved by performing night prayers alone, or by consistently maintaining ablution, or by giving secret charity to someone in need.
