Was what happened to him—the expulsion of something from his body after the ruqyah—a jinn, and what was it that jumped from his left side to his right and is still present despite the ruqyah? And can he perform ruqyah on his wife from a distance?

Being afflicted by jinn (mass) is treated with ruqyah (Islamic exorcism), maintaining ablution (wudu) and remembrance of God (dhikr), perfuming the house, reciting the concluding verses of Surat Al-Baqarah therein, and mentioning God’s name (Bismillah) upon entering and closing its door. It is mentioned in the noble Sunnah that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, performed ruqyah for some of a Companions. One should regularly listen to and recite ruqyah, and seek ruqyah from those known for it among the people of uprightness and Sunnah. Mediation should be sought to reconcile between spouses if the affliction or magic is the cause of their dispute.
