What is the ruling on a woman who performed Umrah and cut a fingertip's length from her hair, but did not take from all sides because her hair was layered and she was unable to do so? Is there anything upon her, knowing that she was ignorant of the necessity of taking from all sides?

A woman must shorten all the hair on her head during Hajj or Umrah. If this is not possible because the hair is layered, she should gather her hair and take from its ends. Ibn Uthaymeen was asked about layered hair and how to ensure the shortening encompasses all of it. He replied that some should be taken from each layer, and if the layers are not distinct, then taking from the bottom is sufficient.
