Among the rhetorical styles of the Arabs is that the speaker sometimes refers to himself using the first-person pronoun, sometimes using the third-person pronoun, sometimes using the singular pronoun, and sometimes using the plural pronoun. This demonstrates versatility in style, eloquence, and articulacy. The Qur'an was not revealed in a single style; rather, its styles varied, and this is part of its perfect inimitability and eloquence. This variation in address is known as "Iltifat" (stylistic shift), which is the chuyển of speech from one style to another to renew the listener's engagement and prevent boredom.
