How does a jinn possess a Muslim human, even though it cannot do so with a disbeliever, while the verse says: "Indeed, My servants – you have no authority over them, except those who follow you of the deviators"?

The reality of jinn entering the human body (possession) has been previously explained in earlier fatwas. The noble verse: ﴿Indeed, My servants – you have no authority over them, except for those who follow you of the misguided﴾ [Al-Hijr: 42], means that the authority mentioned is the authority of argumentation, as in the Almighty's saying on the tongue of Iblis: ﴿And I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me﴾ [Ibrahim: 22]. And it was said: he has no authority over their hearts. Sufyan ibn Uyaynah said: Its meaning is that you have no authority over them to cast them into a sin for which My forgiveness is insufficient. And the verse is not absolute, as righteous people are exposed to the whispers and harm of Satan.
