Is it permissible to increase a sum of money on the cost of an engineering work performed by a colleague, without the knowledge of the colleague or the employer?

There is no objection to accepting the work and agreeing with another engineer to complete it for less than what was agreed upon with the client, unless you are an agent for the client. In that case, it is not permissible for you to increase the price and take the difference without their permission.
