What are the regulations governing a husband’s treatment of his mother, especially if her actions have exceeded the legitimate bounds, causing psychological and physical harm to his wife and child, reaching the point of abusing them and excessively interfering in their lives, and what is the legitimate Islamic solution to this dilemma?

The mother's right is great, and honoring her and obeying her in what is good are among the most obligatory duties, while disobeying her is one of the greatest sins. However, this does not give her the right to dominate her son or interfere in all his affairs. Her obedience is obligatory in matters that benefit her and do not harm the son. It is not permissible for the son to obey his mother by wronging or divorcing his wife. Rather, he must combine honoring his mother with being good to his wife. One of the wife's rights upon her husband is to provide an independent dwelling. It is advised to reach an understanding with the husband to provide an independent dwelling, or to remove harm from the wife and child, while being gentle with the husband and not burdening him with what he cannot bear.
