What is the meaning of the saying "Religion is the opium of the people," and is it true?

Karl Marx's statement that religion is an opiate and a duller of peoples is refuted, for the true religion (the creed of Abraham) inflames hearts, stirs emotions, and pushes forward. It does not accept humiliation and submission to injustice; rather, it mandates rising up, preparing, resisting enemies, and exalting the word of Allah. As for the other alleged religions, Marx's description might be accurate for them due to their binding their adherents with superstitions.
