What is the ruling on creating a religious group on WhatsApp to disseminate recordings of lessons and sermons and recitations of the Quran, especially since some female members pray for the deceased and recite the Quran for him and donate the reward through the recordings, and request recordings of supplications for the removal of distress and prayers upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and then publish them in the group? Does this fall under the category of showing off (riyaa') or bid'ah (innovation)?

If the female reciter who records the Quran has good intentions and is sincere to Allah Almighty, then her action falls under the category of cooperating in goodness and reminding of the project. Caution must be exercised against showing off (riya') and seeking reputation (sum'ah), for if she intends these, her action becomes void. If she intends to teach and spread good, then it is good and not considered an innovation (bid'ah); because deeds are permissible and the means of spreading them are wide.
