It is permissible for a preacher to narrate stories whose authenticity is unconfirmed, provided that he does not intend them to be a legal ruling, and that he prefaces them with a phrase indicating uncertainty about their authenticity, such as "It was narrated" or "It was said." Among the best references for stories of the Salaf are: "Siyar A'lam al-Nubala'" by Al-Dhahabi, "Hilyat al-Awliya'" by Abu Nu'aym, and history books such as "Al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya" by Ibn Kathir. Furthermore, the books of Ibn al-Jawzi and Ibn al-Qayyim, such as "Al-Tabsira," "Al-Mud'hish," and "Madarij al-Salikin," are beneficial for preaching. The book "Munjid al-Khatib" by Ahmad Safar al-Suwaidi is also considered a good reference for preachers.
