Is the Hadith, "Ignorance and forgetfulness have been lifted from my Ummah," or "My Ummah has been forgiven for ignorance and forgetfulness," and is the letter Lām in "al-jahl" pronounced with a Dammah or a Fathah?

Perhaps the questioner is referring to the Hadith: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has pardoned for my Ummah (nation) mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are compelled to do," or "He has overlooked for my Ummah mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are compelled to do," or "He has removed from my Ummah mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are compelled to do." This was narrated by Ahmad and Al-Tabarani, and authenticated by Al-Albani. The mentioned wording was not reported. Ignorance, if it is of a type for which one is excused, is assimilated by scholars to error. And the word "الجهل" (ignorance) in the mentioned phrase should have a dammah (vowel sound 'u') because it is a نائب فاعل (na'ib fa'il - subject of a passive verb) and is therefore in the nominative case.
