The answer

The meaning of "Umm al-Kitab" (the Mother of the Book) on the night of mid-Sha'ban might be the recitation of Surat al-Fatiha fourteen times after the prayer. However, the narrated concerning this, which mentions the Prophet (peace be upon him) praying fourteen rak'ahs, reciting Surat al-Fatiha, al-Mu'awwidhat (Surat al-Falaq and Surat an-Nas), and Surat al- fourteen times, as well as Ayat al-Kursi, and the verse: "There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves" (Quran 9:128), followed by a question about it, and the promise of reward for whoever does likewise—Imam Ahmad, al-Bayhaqi, and al-Suyuti said about it: "It resembles being fabricated and denounced, and its narrators are unknown."
