You can shorten the supplication and limit it to asking for guidance for your parents, relatives, and all Muslims, such as saying: "O Allah, guide my parents and relatives, and have mercy on those of them who have passed away," or "O Allah, forgive me, my parents, my relatives, and all Muslim men and women, living and dead." Allah Almighty has taught us to say: "My Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers," and this includes every Muslim.

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever seeks forgiveness for believing men and women, Allah will record a good deed for him for every believing man and woman" (Narrated by Al-Tabarani and deemed good by Al-Albani).

If you have exerted efforts for the guidance of your relatives, then you have discharged your responsibility, for guidance is in the hands of Allah the Almighty: "Indeed, you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills" (Al-Qasas: 56). So there is no need for sadness and worry and wishing for the death of children. Rather, continue inviting them and praying for them, and do not despair.
