What is the solution for a committed individual who feels sexual attraction towards men and cannot rid himself of this feeling? Is this considered a psychological illness, and how is it treated? Does shaking a man's hand invalidate ablution if one feels desire towards him, even if it is involuntary?

Thinking about sin stems from emptiness, exposure to provocations, or malice of the soul. One must increase obedience to Allah and His remembrance, and ask Him for help. The corruption of sodomy is immense and follows the corruption of disbelief. No one committed it before the people of Lot, and Allah punished them with severe penalties. It is authentically reported from Khalid ibn al-Walid, Ali, and Ibn Abbas that the punishment for sodomy is execution, burning, or being thrown from a high place. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, cursed three times those who commit the act of the people of Lot. The remedy for this is to avoid looking at men with lust, as looking at an un-bearded youth with lust is forbidden by scholarly consensus, just as looking at a foreign woman is forbidden. One must be mindful of Allah, keep away from bad company, and marry to form a family. As for the deficiency in ablution, it is nullified by the emission of prostatic fluid (madhiy); otherwise, it is not.
