What is the ruling on the Eclipse Prayer in which the Imam supplicated after the second bowing of the second rak'ah, and indicated the turning inside-out of clothes after the prayer?

The eclipse prayer is a confirmed Sunnah (definition), and some scholars have gone as far as to say it is obligatory. It is not authentically reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed qunut in it, so the Sunnah is not to perform qunut in it. However, if the Imam performs qunut, his prayer is valid, and supplication does not invalidate it, but it is an innovation. Similarly, it is not from the Sunnah after the eclipse prayer for the worshippers to turn their garments inside out, as this was reported for the prayer for rain (Salat al-Istisqa).
