What is the ruling on one or more people standing to the right of the Imam during Friday prayer when there is space in the back rows?

Perhaps the person stood to the right of the Imam because they had no opportunity in the row, and thus resorted to that action to avoid praying alone behind the row. This is permissible according to the Hanbalis. However, it is disliked by the Malikis unless there is a necessity. Al-San'ani preferred its permissibility here, even without an excuse.
