What is the ruling on engraving with henna on different parts of the body if it does not contain images or three-dimensional representations, and is this considered tattooing?

Henna art for a married woman is permissible unless there is a religious impediment, as it is considered permissible adornment. Imam Ahmad disliked it, but the apparent ruling is that it is permissible. As for a man, henna art is forbidden for him because it constitutes imitation of women. The difference between it and tattooing is that tattooing involves altering Allah's creation, whereas henna is an adornment that fades away.
