Is it permissible to refrain from speaking to one's parents and fulfilling their requests without falling into disobedience towards them?

It is advisable to pardon and forgive family members, especially parents, and to consider any harm as accounted for with Allah. It is not permissible to cease speaking to them for more than three days, as this falls under the category of abandonment forbidden by Islamic law, and because it may lead to disobeying them. There is no harm in limiting conversation with them to what is necessary if it leads to harm, while remembering the words of Allah the Almighty: "Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant."
