What is the ruling on a person who connects an itch in their hand with the acquisition of provision?

Itching of the hand has no connection to the arrival of provision (rizq) or the occurrence of something good; rather, it is a superstition circulated among people. Doctors attribute it to neurological influences. Believing in this is impermissible and falls under minor Shirk (polytheism), because it involves taking reasons that are neither legislated nor tangible. It has been mentioned in the Hadith that whoever attributes rain to the stars has disbelieved. And whoever makes something a cause that Allah has not made a cause, neither through His revelation nor through His decree, is guilty of minor Shirk. One must be cautious about linking matters to imaginary causes and firmly believe that all affairs and provisions are in Allah's hands.
