What is the ruling on electronic voting to win a financial prize?

This type of competition is forbidden in Islamic law, whether the prize comes from the contestants or from an external party. The majority of jurists are of the opinion that it is not permissible to race for a prize except in archery (nushl), camel racing (khuff), and horse racing (hafir). The Hanafis added foot racing to these four types.
