What should I do about my wife who neglects me and sleeps next to her son instead of me, justifying it by saying that I snore?
It is the husband's right that his wife cohabit with him in a good and honorable manner. Her forsaking him in bed and not sleeping with him is not considered good conduct. If he commands her to sleep with him and she disobeys his command, then she is disobedient (nashiz). However, if the husband's snoring harms the wife and she is unable to sleep because of it, then she has the right to refrain from sleeping with him in the same bed, and she is not considered disobedient (nashiz). The husband should excuse her. The husband should also review himself, as the reason for the wife's refusal might be his negligence in her rights or his lack of cleanliness. The husband should treat his snoring if it is harming his wife.
