Is it permissible to make and sell children's costumes in the shape of animals or cartoon characters, and is this considered among the forbidden forms of imagery or embodiment?

It is not permissible to manufacture or sell clothes that have images of animate beings on them, and this is for two reasons: Firstly, it is not permissible in Islamic law to wear anything that has a picture of an animal. Secondly, if the image is in the form of animals, it involves imitating them, which is reprehensible and forbidden.
