Is it obligatory for a wife to obey her parents and uncover her face by abandoning the niqab, or to obey Allah by continuing to wear it, especially when her parents threaten to cut ties due to their fear of security problems?

The hijab is an obligation based on the Quran, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the Ummah. Scholars differed concerning covering the face and hands, but the face must be covered when times are corrupt and religious commitment is weak, because it is the focus of beauty and a woman's attractiveness. It is not permissible to obey anyone in removing the niqab, even if it be one's parents, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator." One must advise one's parents gently and kindly, and if they do not respond, then there is no obedience to them in sin, while continuing to treat them with kindness.
