The answer

Selling a property or anything else before taking possession of it is impermissible due to the presence of gharar (deception/uncertainty) and jahalah (ignorance), and due to the prohibition reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding this. An exception to this is selling property through "parallel Salam", where a contract for the sale of the property is concluded with the same specifications as the first contract, which has not yet been taken possession of.
