What is the ruling on the money you received from a private job without your partner's knowledge, and are you obliged to inform him now, fearing harm to the company?
You are permitted to undertake independent private work, provided that you do not exploit the company or its name, and that it does not violate the partnership agreement. Any earnings from such work are lawful for you, and you are not obligated to inform your partners about them. However, if the work violates the agreement or exploits the company, it is not permissible except with the partners' permission, and its income would be distributed among them according to the agreement. If informing them would harm the partnership, you may take their share of the income and add it to their portion without their knowledge, but do not repeat the work without their permission.
