What are the Qur'anic or Prophetic remedies for treating the common cold?

The Qur'an is entirely a healing, a goodness, and a blessing. Treatment with it does not preclude treatment with other medicines. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to perform ruqyah (definition) (exorcism/healing through prayer), take medicine, and command others to take medicine, saying: "Seek treatment, for Allah has not sent down a disease except that He has sent down a cure for it, known by those who know it and unknown by those who do not." Therefore, it is recommended to recite the Qur'an and the authentic supplications over the sick person, such as: "O Allah, Lord of mankind, Remover of hardship, heal You are the Healer. There is no healer but You. Grant a healing that leaves no illness."
