Is it permissible for a mother to recover part of her money that her father took without her knowledge by making him believe that he took a larger amount, and is it permissible for a daughter to refuse to keep her mother's money as a trust?

A mother's money is her private property; she disposes of it as she wishes. The basic principle is that a mother is to be believed when she says that this money is hers. If a mother gives money to her daughter to give to the father so that he may return it to her, the father is obligated to return what he took. If he does not return it, then the mother's stratagem to recover her money is permissible. Obedience to a mother is obligatory in permissible matters, and "Al-Ma'ruf" (what is good/right) includes what is obligatory, recommended, and permissible in Islamic law.
