Is it permissible for a student studying medicine abroad, who is experiencing difficult financial circumstances, to transfer their bank account to an interest-bearing account out of necessity, and is it permissible to take this interest temporarily with the intention of giving it away later as expiation?

It is not permissible to convert a bank account into an interest-bearing account in order to receive usurious interest and use it for studying or settling debts. Consuming usury is one of the gravest major sins and one of the seven destructive sins. It incurs curses and eradicates blessings. And whoever fears Allah and relies upon Him, He will provide for him from where he does not expect.
