The answer

The number sixty does not indicate death or anything else. Allah has decreed life spans and has concealed from His servants the knowledge of the time of death, as stated in His saying, Exalted is He: "Allah takes the souls at the time of their death," and His saying: "And no soul perceives in what land it will die." The keys of the unseen are five; none knows them but Allah.

A Muslim must remember death and the afterlife, and contemplate the divine texts related to them, to be motivated to perform acts of obedience and avoid sins, and to remain fearful and hopeful. Thus, one should neither feel secure from Allah's plan nor despair of His mercy. And "Death is sufficient as a preacher."

Whoever frequently remembers death is honored with three things: hastening repentance, contentment of the heart, and diligence in worship. And whoever forgets it is punished with three things: procrastination in repentance, abandoning contentment with sufficiency, and laziness in worship. One must act upon Allah's commands and avoid His prohibitions, be keen on seeking religious knowledge, and refrain from pessimism regarding numbers.
