Is it permissible to write the child's name on the prayer rug to encourage and attract him to prayer?

One should not write names on a prayer rug, due to the disrespect it entails for the letters, even if the name does not contain a glorified word, such as the name of Allah. Indeed, some consider it forbidden to disrespect letters in any way whatsoever.
