Are video games that contain elaborate animated graphics of living beings, "as if they were real movies," unlawful, bearing in mind that depicting "that which has a soul" is religiously forbidden?

The answer to this question was provided in Fatwa no. 35440, in which we clarified the prohibition of playing computer games that contain drawings of animals or humans. Jurists have stipulated the prohibition of playing with anything that contains an image of an animal. Therefore, those who create or develop such games incur sin and severe warning as a matter of greater priority.
