Is a doctor liable for blood money (diyya) if he accidentally files down part of a tooth?

A physician is accountable for the consequences of his actions, even if he is skilled. He is only sinful if he is not skilled. If a physician accidentally files down the tooth of a person who has already grown permanent teeth, he must pay a diyah (blood money) for the tooth, proportionate to the part he filed down. However, if the tooth belongs to a child who has not yet grown permanent teeth, he is not liable unless a period of time has passed and there is no hope of the tooth growing back. The diyah for a single tooth is five camels, and this includes molars and canines.
