Does God answer the prayer of the weak-in-faith person who acknowledges his sins while still committing them, and does He strengthen his faith? And is it permissible to supplicate with "O Allah, increase me from Your wealth and from Your beauty," or "O Allah, increase me in wealth and beauty, O Allah, extinguish my desires"? And what are the Sharia-compliant pieces of advice for prolonging prostration and increasing supplication with Allah's Most Beautiful Names?

All human beings are fallible, and the best of those who err are those who repent. Therefore, repent to your Lord from the sins you are committing, and strive in your supplication to Him to increase your faith and make you steadfast. There is no impediment to supplicating to Allah despite your sins, but hasten to repent and strive against your soul to abandon acts of disobedience. For if you are truthful, Allah will assist you, as He says: "And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good." (Al-Ankabut: 69).

There is no harm in this supplication of yours. It is appropriate to learn the Prophetic supplications, and there is no harm in prolonging prostration (sujud) and asking Allah by His beautiful names.

Continue to draw closer to Allah, adhere to obligatory acts and supererogatory ones, accompany the righteous, acquire beneficial knowledge, and frequently remember Allah, supplicate to Him, and humble yourself before Him. Reflect on Allah's blessings and on death and its terrors, so that your heart may soften.
