"Supplication is worship." All types of supplication are desirable, except for those that involve sin or severing ties of kinship, such as praying for the facilitation of forbidden acts, or for the victory of disbelievers over Muslims. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against transgressing in supplication. Transgression includes exceeding the bounds, supplicating for what is impermissible, raising one's voice excessively in it, and asking for the stations of the Prophets.
