Is there an authentic Hadith to the effect that the worst of people in the sight of Allah is an Imam whom people hate?

The hadiths reported concerning the dislike of an Imam refer to oppressive and tyrannical imams, primarily meaning rulers and governors. This also includes imams of prayer and anyone who assumes authority over Muslims yet does not treat them kindly. It is reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, supplicated against this type of Imam, saying: "O Allah, whoever is entrusted with any affair of my nation and makes it difficult for them, make it difficult for him. And whoever is entrusted with any affair of my nation and treats them kindly, treat him kindly." It is also reported that the prayer of an imam disliked by his people does not rise beyond their ears.
