The expenses for maintaining an inherited house and its costs are borne by the partners in proportion to each one's share in it. So, if the house belongs to a son and two daughters, the maintenance cost is divided into four shares: two shares for the son, and one share for each daughter, just as their inheritance. It is stated in the fatwas of "Fath al-Ali al-Malik fi al- ala al-Imam Malik": "The expenses are upon the partners according to their shares, and the revenue is theirs likewise."
