What is the ruling on in vitro fertilization (IVF)? And is it an unlawful seeking of procreation, by analogy with Allah's saying in Surat al-A'raf: "And when he covered her, she conceived"?

The aforementioned verse speaks about the fruit of marriage between a man and a woman. "Ghashayan" (intercourse) is a euphemism for sexual intimacy and the beginning of embryo formation and a light pregnancy that the woman does not feel as a burden or pain. This refers to the passage of the sperm, then the clinging clot, then the chewed lump, all without hardship. When the woman "became heavy," meaning the fetus grew large in her womb and the time of birth approached, "they both invoked Allah, their Lord."
