What is the prescribed Islamic punishment for anal intercourse with one's wife, and does it necessitate separation between the spouses, even with the perpetrator's repentance and regret?

It is legally impermissible, by the consensus of the early and later generations (Salaf and Khalaf), to engage in anal intercourse with one's wife. The one who does so is threatened with being deprived of Allah's gaze on the Day of Judgment and is accursed. However, the perpetrator is not subject to a specific worldly punishment, nor is a separation mandated between him and his wife if he repents. The wife must not allow him to do this, and the husband must repent to Allah, for He accepts the repentance of His servants.
