Are the days on which brown or yellow discharge appears at the beginning or end of the menstrual period considered part of menstruation?

Yellowish and brownish discharges are considered menstruation in several cases:

If it precedes menstruation: If it occurs within the habitual period or a short time before it, accompanied by menstrual pain, and is continuous with the menstrual blood (i.e., blood follows it). In this case, the woman refrains from prayer and fasting.

If it occurs after blood and before purification: It is considered menstruation based on what was reported from Umm 'Alqamah and 'Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, where 'Aisha used to advise women not to rush until they saw the white discharge (purity).

If it occurs after purification: Yellowish and brownish discharges are not considered menstruation after purification, based on the statement of Umm 'Atiyyah, may Allah be pleased with her: "We used not to consider brownish and yellowish discharges as anything after purification."
