A Muslim must honor and be kind to their parents, and harming them is forbidden. The mother, in particular, is singled out for even greater honor. It is not permissible to quarrel with one's mother or raise one's voice at her; rather, one must be gentle with her, speak to her kindly, and obey her in what is right. One should also be gentle with siblings and family members, and the education and upbringing of children should be handled with wisdom and firmness.
