Does the preservation of the first woman's body after six months, without decomposition, indicate her righteousness or that she is one of the martyrs because she died from a stomach illness?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Martyrs are of five kinds, and among them is the one who dies from an abdominal disease. The woman in question, having died from a stomach ailment, we hope that Allah will grant her the reward of martyrs. Everything of a human being perishes except the ‘ajb adh-dhanab (coccyx), which is a small bone at the base of the spine. There is no mention of anyone being exempt from decay by the earth except the Prophets. Some scholars have also held the view that the martyr’s body is not consumed by the earth, as an honor for them.
