Is it a sin to visit historical mosques and take pictures inside them?

Mosques are houses of Allah, built for His remembrance, prayer, and recitation of the Qur'an. They should not be taken as places for entertainment, tourism, and photography. However, merely looking at them incurs no sin. As for photographing the mosque and its furnishings, there is no harm in it. Photographing living beings within them is a matter of dispute, and it is preferable to protect mosques from photography altogether. A non-Muslim is permitted to enter all mosques except the Sacred Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) if there is a need or a benefit.
