What is the trust that Allah offered to the heavens and the earth, which they refused to bear, but man undertook?

Allah presented His obedience and His limits to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains, but they refused to bear them out of fear, and man bore them. This is the interpretation of His saying, the Almighty: (Indeed, We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to bear it and feared it; but man bore it. Indeed, he was ever unjust and ignorant).
