What is the ruling on purchasing a house through a bank with a 7% annual murabaha, knowing that buying it with this offer is better than continuing to pay high rent?
If the bank purchases the house and then sells it to you in installments, there is no objection. Similarly, it is permissible to enter into an Istisna’ (manufacturing) contract with it for building a house. However, if the bank will lend you the price of the house with usurious interest, then it is not permissible except in cases of dire necessity.
