Is money earned from betting on the accuracy of a technical piece of information, based on a prior agreement to pay 500 Euros to the loser, considered unlawful (haram), or is it permissible to take it, knowing that betting known to be lawful (halal) is restricted to archery, hoofed animals, horses, and camels?

As long as the loser of the two wagerers will give the winner a sum of money, this falls under the meaning of forbidden gambling ( and qimar). This form is not permissible according to the four madhhabs (schools of thought), even if it is in a race that is religiously permitted.
