The manufacturer is not permitted to add a broker's commission to the price of the commodity without the customer's knowledge and consent, especially if the customer has informed them not to include a commission. This is because both sales and brokerage require mutual agreement. If there was an agreement with the manufacturer regarding a commission, or if it is customary practice, then the broker has the right to claim it from the manufacturer, not the customer.
