Is a divorced woman, whose ex-husband took their six-year-old child from her by having her custody revoked through false witnesses who claimed the child was ill and that she was involved with another man, allowed to supplicate against him? And is it permissible for her to also bring false witnesses to testify with her?

The mother has a greater right to the custody of her child, as long as she does not remarry or unless an impediment is proven against her. The child's illness or the man's claim of an extramarital affair does not negate the mother's right to custody. The child's father must fear Allah and return the son to his mother. If he refuses, the mother has the right to resort to the judiciary or seek assistance from someone of influence. False testimony is forbidden by Islamic law and is not permissible, even if it is to attain a right, and uttering falsehood is one of the gravest sins.
